Lived Experience Governance A & B
October 26 | 10:00 - 12:30
One event on November 2, 2021 at 10:00
About the workshop:
For lived experience involvement to go beyond tokenistic consultations, people with lived experience need to be involved in all levels of organisations including on boards and committees. Lived experience involvement in governance benefits the organisation, the people who use the services and people with lived experience. However the formal board practices, legal responsibilities and procedures can feel intimidating. Understanding your role and knowing what to expect can give you the confidence you need to take on these positions.
What will be learnt:
Participants will gain an introduction to the role of a board, the legal responsibilities of board members and common board meeting protocols.
How this session fits within the broader LEDGE Project:
These two workshops are part of the Lived Experience governance stream and are 2 of the 5 workshops required for the lived experience governance certificate. These two workshops build on each other and must be completed in order.
