About the workshop:
People with lived experience need to be embraced at all levels of the system to allow for the maximum benefits of lived experience involvement. People with lived experience have unique expertise and perspectives to contribute and should be supported to take on leadership roles. Lived experience leaders have the potential to be inspirational because they are value-driven and with a deep sense of purpose and responsibility to create positive change. The ability to influence Is an essential leadership skill. To influence is to have an impact on the behaviours, attitudes, opinions and choices of others.
Who the workshop is for:
Anyone with lived experience who is wanting to take on leadership roles.
What will be learnt:
Participants will know how to use lived experience effectively and purposefully by drawing on relevant evidence to maximise impact and will have strategies to advocate in a way that motivates and activates people.
How this session fits within the broader LEDGE Project:
This workshop is part of the leadership stream. It is one of the 5 workshops that form the requirements for the lived experience leadership certificate. They can also be done as single workshops at any stage of the learning pathway.
